After attending the wedding of Zefron's manager (Jason Barrett) in Hawaii, Zac Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens hide underneath their hoodies as they return home to Los Angeles via LAX airport on Monday. (If this scene looks familiar, the couple did the same thing at Best Buy.)
Because Zac and director Kenny Ortega delivered a $42 million opening weekend for High School Musical 3, Zac and Kenny may start working together again on Footloose as early as next spring.
According to Variety, Zac is almost set in a deal that will pay him a mid-seven-figure salary. Mr. Efron is working his way up to leading man pay-outs!

According to newspusher they were "attending a wedding in hawaii saturday afternoon. the high school musical couple was seen enjoying the view and having a good time." "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," the first big-screen adaptation of Walt Disney Co's popular TV movie franchise, rocked movie theaters around the world during its first weekend of release, the company said on Sunday.
The movie sold $42 million worth of tickets across North America for the three days beginning on Friday, and grossed $40 million internationally. It was No. 1 by both counts, becoming the first worldwide chart-topper since the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight" in July, Disney said.
The "High School Musical" franchise has generated two smash TV movies, two chart-topping albums, and made teen idols out of its stars, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.
The plot of the new film brings the cast back to their fictional New Mexico high school, where Troy (Efron) must decide between pursuing a basketball scholarship or his song-and-dance dreams. The usual teen-angst issues ensue. ... Read More ...

" High School Musical 3: Senior Year ," the first big-screen adaptation of Walt Disney Co's popular TV movie franchise, graduated top of the class during its first weekend in North American theatres, according to preliminary sales estimates issued on Saturday.
The movie sold $16.9 million (10.6 million pounds) worth of tickets during its opening day on Friday , Disney said, and will easily beat pundits' forecasts of a weekend haul in the $40 million range. Disney declined to give a weekend estimate until Sunday.
"High School Musical 3" will have little trouble crushing the $27.8 million record for a musical opening set by the ABBA-themed romance " Mamma Mia !" in July. ... Read More ...
Zac Efron shows off just a wee bit of definition in the trailer for his upcoming movie, 17 Again.
Synopsis: Mike O’Donnell seemingly had it all. He was a star athlete headed straight for a college scholarship until he decided to give it all up to settle down with his high school girlfriend Scarlett. Now at 37, Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry) has become a miserable and unhappy businessman who feels he made some incorrect choices with his life. He wishes that he could go back and become the young Mike O’Donnell (Efron) he once was and correct all the mistakes he made which resulted in him becoming the unhappy businessman he has now become. His wish soon becomes reality as he turns 17 again and gets to live his life over again.
17 Again opens in theaters everywhere on April 17, 2009.

It didn't take long for Zac Efron to encounter one of the downsides of superstardom. As the hottest young actor in Hollywood, the Arroyo Grande native has become a paparazzi favorite. Whether he visits an airport, Starbucks or a gas station, several photographers will follow, repeatedly snapping his image.
"The first time was so innocent -- I didn't know what to think," Efron said. "I just politely waved and went about my business. I had no idea it would escalate to these levels."
