"The director asked me to gain 10 pounds, so I was a lot heavier throughout the film. It works great for the character. It was so hard, though! I just lifted weights and ate lots of food."

Zac Efron stops to sign a few autographs as he makes his way to GMTV before taking off at Heathrow airport in London on Friday morning (March 27).
The 21-year-old actor, who premiered his new flick 17 Again last night, revealed to GMTV that he was super jealous of how costar Corbin Bleu could spin a basketball on his finger.
Zac shared, "I was alright in school [in basketball], I didn’t play on a team though. I had to learn for High School Musical and Corbin could spin the ball on his finger. I was jealous so I asked him to show me how to do it."

Zac Efron's 17 Again costar Thomas Lennon holds up a sign that says "I Heart Zac" as they shoot a promo commercial for Comedy Central earlier this year.

Zac Efron Drops Footloose

Zac Efron has dropped out of a remake of Footloose after reportedly deciding against more musical roles.
The studio put out a statement saying the High School Musical star is no longer going to star in the movie. Stories claim the 21 year old wants more adult parts and to move away from musicals like the HSM franchise and hit Hairspray.
Kenny Ortega - the man behind HSM and Dirty Dancing - is directing the Footloose remake which is expected for release in 2010 - though its now unknown who will replace Zac.
Efron's latest film is comedy 17 Again which is released on April 10 at UK cinemas.

Zac Efron keeps warm in a gray sweater as he arrives at Heathrow airport in London on Wednesday morning (March 25).
The 21-year-old actor is make a worldwide trip to promote his new flick, 17 Again.
Zac will be making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show tonight along with British comedian and actor David Walliams. The show will air at 11PM on BBC.

Zac Efron gets loose from Footloose

Zac Efron has dropped out of his role in a remake of "Footloose."
Paramount Pictures says the "High School Musical" heartthrob is no longer attached to the upcoming film. The studio did not give a reason in its Tuesday statement, but said it remains committed to director Kenny Ortega and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Efron soared to stardom in the "High School Musical" franchise as music-loving jock Troy. The 21-year-old actor sang and danced in the 2007 movie musical "Hairspray," and was primed to bust some moves in the update of the 1984 classic "Footloose."
Efron stars as a middle-aged guy who wakes up as his teenaged self in "17 Again," slated for release April 17.
